The full season synopsis reads: "In season two, in the growing war for control of Manhattan, Maggie and Negan find themselves trapped on opposite sides.

"As their paths intertwine, they come to see that the way out for both is more complicated and harrowing than they ever imagined."

As well as the returns of Cohan and Morgan, the new episodes will feature new show additions Dascha Polanco, Jake Weary, Keir Gilchrist and Pooya Mohseni.

Dead City was quickly renewed for a second season ahead of its season 1 finale, with AMC's Dan McDermott saying at the time: "We can't wait to bring Dead City fans back to the epicenter of Manhattan for more zip-lining action with Maggie and Negan."

The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 will debut on AMC on May 4, and in the UK in June on Sky and NOW.
