Good news for The Walking Dead fans based in the UK as spinoff The Walking Dead: Dead City has finally landed a release date this side of the pond.

Despite premiering in the US in June last year, Dead City only confirmed a UK release date today (August 7). The zombie series focuses on Lauren Cohan's Maggie and Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan as they set out to find her abducted son in NYC will now make its UK debut on Sky Max on August 22 (via RadioTimes.com).

Meanwhile, the spinoff has already received a season two order. In July 2023, Dan McDermott of AMC (which airs The Walking Dead Universe series in the US) shared the news with fans.

"This next chapter in the Walking Dead Universe continues to thrive with a terrific inaugural season for Dead City and highly anticipated new journey for fan-favourite character Daryl Dixon coming in September," McDermott said in a statement at the time.

"We can't wait to bring Dead City fans back to the epicenter of Manhattan for more zip-lining action with Maggie and Negan."

Expected to be released sometime in 2025, the second season of Dead City will see a few newcomers joining in on the gory fun.

Making their Walking Dead Universe big entrance are Orange Is The New Black's Dascha Polanco, Animal Kingdom actor Jake Weary, It Follows star Keir Gilchrist, and Terrifier star Pooya Mohseni.

The Walking Dead aired on AMC in the US and STAR on Disney+ in the UK. Dead City airs in the UK from August 22 on Sky Max.
