Reacher season 3 has landed a 100% Rotten Tomatoes ahead of its release on Thursday (February 20).

Based on Persuader, the seventh novel in Lee Child's series, the season features Alan Ritchson's hard man going undercover to investigate a dodgy rug import business, and he soon discovers a far-reaching conspiracy (not to mention a 7 foot 2 brute of man who's even more physically strong than he is).

At the moment, there are 16 reviews from critics and all of them are positive. The common consensus is that the show sticks to its successful formula of twists, action, and never taking itself too seriously.

Here's what some of the reviews have said:

Empire - 3/5

"Those core components are as likeable as ever... In what is surely the signature role of his career, Ritchson remains everything you could want for the embodiment of Child's hero, bringing just the right amount of mordant humour — along with the requisite muscles."

IGN - 8/10

"Reacher's new season 3 buddy Susan Duffy makes a firm case as the strongest supporting character in the series to date, the action is therapeutically brutal, and it remains a righteous good time for those like their heroes hard-boiled and well read, and their bad guys foiled and super dead."

What to Read Next

ScreenRant

"Season 3 places most of the focus solely back on Reacher after getting his group of 110th Special Investigators back together in season 2. After season 2's expansion, season 3 feels more back to basics. Season 3 is a compelling blend of season 1's small-town setting and feel while maintaining the explosive and intense action set pieces from season 2."

The Telegraph - 4/5

"As Reacher shatters noses, snaps legs and delivers laconic one-liners, this is TV as muscular as its protagonist's oak-like arms. It's ultraviolent and unrepentantly macho but laced with enough wit to keep it the right side of silly. That's where Reacher has the edge on 'Dad TV' rivals such as The Terminal List or The Night Agent, which take themselves terribly seriously. Reacher has his tongue firmly lodged in his cheek and delivers rollicking entertainment with a knowing wink."

Empire - 4/5

"The third season of Reacher takes that formula and creatively shakes things up in an immensely enjoyable way. This time around, not only is he checking off his list of breaking limbs and blowing things up, but it's all while a hero who's regularly seen hoofing it stops to display a side we've never seen before."

Reacher season 3 premieres on February 20 on Prime Video, with new episodes dropping weekly. A fourth season has been confirmed, while a spin-off is in the works too.
