Alan Ritchson returns as ex-US army major Jack Reacher in Reacher season 3, which has just announced a release date.

The third instalment will become available to stream on Prime Video from February 20, more than a year after season 2 wrapped with an explosive finale.

"I've been waiting for this moment for some time now," Reacher says in the clip, which you can watch at the top of this article.

Set to be an adaptation of Lee Child's 2003 Jack Reacher novel Persuader, season 3 will see Reacher up against Paulie, a thug "twice [his] size".

Played by Black Widow actor Olivier Richters, the character is described as a "deranged bodybuilder bodyguard" and notably features in the Persuader novel.

Fret not, as the tagline "The bigger they are, the harder they fall" suggests our resourceful protagonist Reacher will find a way to best his opponent.

Persuader focuses on Reacher as he goes undercover to rescue an informant who has been kidnapped by someone from his past.

The story also sees Reacher make an alliance with the DEA to bust a suspected drug smuggler by infiltrating his family business.

The new batch of episodes is expected to be focusing on Reacher flying solo, as author and executive producer Child confirmed.

"We felt we needed a book that was more Reacher alone for the third season," he said of round three. "And so it was a question of which story would work best for that, and which one would have a great opening scene and all of that, and we found one that we loved."

Meanwhile, Reacher has been already renewed for season 4, while fans will also be treated to new spinoff series Neagley, focusing on Reacher's sidekick Frances Neagley (Maria Sten).

Season 3 of Reacher will become available to stream on Prime Video from February 20, 2025. The previous two seasons are currently streaming on the same platform.
