Keeley Hawes' new drama Orphan Black: Echoes has been cancelled after just one season.
The spin-off of Orphan Black, which aired between 2013 and 2017, recently wrapped up its 10-episode run in the US (it dropped all at once in the UK in May), and the decision was made not to give it a second season.
Deadline, which broke the news, states that Echoes didn't find an audience with fans, or perform all that well with critics.

Hawes starred in the series as an adult version of Kira Manning, the biological daughter of one of the five clones from the original show. She's now married a neuroscientist named Eleanor and has a son of her own named Lucas.
Echoes kicks off when Kira discovers an amnesiac woman named Lucy, played by Jessica Jones and Breaking Bad's Krysten Ritter.

The original's creator John Fawcett explained what set Echoes apart in an interview last year, saying: "The spin-off is a very different show. If you go with the expectation that you're going to see Orphan Black, you're going to probably be disappointed. It's got its own feel, it's got its own identity.
"What makes it Orphan Black, there's a bit of a slow burn to it. I think it'll be exciting for fans to discover."

After the creative team previously stated that they ended the show in order to not repeat themselves, Fawcett explained why he came back for Echoes.
"It was a project that was going to happen with or without me," he said. "Either I contribute and be a part of it or I let it go.
"There were some ideas for what the spin-off was going to be that I thought were really cool. And I thought, why not?"
Orphan Black: Echoes and its parent series are available on ITVX in the UK and Ireland.
