Strictly Come Dancing has added an extremely successful popstar to its line-up for the 2026 series. The news comes just days after she faced questions about her involvement during an appearance on Good Morning Britain.

It's none other than Delta Goodrem, whose music career spans more than 20 years and who competed at the Eurovision Song Contest last month with her song 'Eclipse', representing Australia.

She said: "I’ve been incredibly honoured to perform on many different stages throughout my career - from TV, theatre, film sets, to touring my own shows around the world, there is however one stage I’ve never stepped onto and that is the ballroom floor!"

"I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining Strictly and can’t wait to get started," she added.

She joins the previously-announced Lacey Turner and Dani Dyer on the bill so far, with more to follow over the coming days and weeks.

Delta released her debut album Innocent Eyes in 2003, reaching number 2 in the UK album chart. It spawned the Top 10 hits 'Born to Try', 'Lost Without You' and the title track. She has released six more studio albums in the years since, and her next - Pure - is due out on 6 November.

Prior to her pop career taking off, she played Nina Tucker in Neighbours from 2002 to 2005, returning in 2015 and in 2022. She has also been a coach on the Australian version of The Voice.

Speaking about a potential Strictly stint last week, she said on Good Morning Britain: "I'd have to work really hard because I'm a piano girl at the end of the day." She added that she had, at that point, "not confirmed" her appearance on the show.

It's all change for Strictly this year, with new presenters in Emma Willis, Josh Widdecombe and Johannes Radebe. Janette Manrara has confirmed she will not be part of spin-off It Takes Two amid rumours it's having a big format shake-up, and several professional dancers have also exited.

Strictly Come Dancing will return to the BBC later this year.
