Strictly Come Dancing star Jowita Przystal has assured fans that she has no intention of leaving the BBC series following a comment which implied that she would be taking to the dancefloor for the "last time".

The professional dancer has been a feature of the series since 2021, with her highlight coming the following year as she lifted the iconic Glitterball Trophy for the first time with Hamza Yassin.

During this year's season, which concluded on Saturday (20 December), Jowita was partnered with television presenter Ross King, but it was a short-lived journey as the couple were the second pair to be eliminated.

As per tradition, the duo returned to the studio for the Grand Final as the eliminated couples performed one final group routine, though Jowita had fans worried after she posted a selfie with Ross with the caption: "Last dance partner on Strictly floor x".

This led viewers to speculate that Jowita would leave the series, though she has since clarified the matter on Instagram Stories, with the professional dancer confirming that she had no plans to leave Strictly any time soon.

"So grateful for being part of the best show on TV. And just to clarify my last post, it was about my last dance with Ross, not me leaving the show. Hopefully far from my last dance on that dance floor," she wrote (via The Sun).

While it doesn't seem that Jowita is going anywhere, Saturday's episode did prove to be the final bow for co-hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, who announced in October that they would be departing the series after a decade of joint-presenting.

Just before their final moment, judge Craig Revel Horwood read out a note on behalf of Queen Camilla, which read: "Dear Tess and Claudia, as you prepare to take your final twirl, I just wanted to say thank you on behalf of the millions who watch you each week.

"I have often thought that Strictly is not so much a show about dancing as about friendships: the bonds forged, the struggles overcome and the joy shared in undertaking a joint endeavour.

"If that is true, then perhaps yours has been the greatest Strictly partnership of all. The warmth, compassion and sheer happiness you have radiated with and from each other has been at the heart of the show's success."

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
