Strictly Come Dancing star Kai Widdrington has penned a touching tribute to his latest celebrity dance partner Vicky Pattison. The duo became the seventh couple eliminated from the competition this weekend (eighth if you include Stefan Dennis and Dianne Buswell, who had to withdraw due to injury).

Kai and Vicky ended up in the bottom two after Saturday's show saw them at the bottom of the leaderboard, scoring just 27 for their Jive to Girls Aloud's 'Sound of the Underground'. Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon, who also scored 27 and landed in the bottom two, were saved by all the judges.

After yesterday's result show aired, Kai shared a length post about his time with Vicky to his Instagram, praising her dedication and thanking the fans for keeping them in the competition for so long.

"Wow, what a journey! While it is with genuine sadness we leave the competition, it has been the most amazing fun and pleasure dancing with the wonderful Vicky Pattison," he wrote.

"You not only conquered your fears and your nerves, but you showed the world what an amazing dancer you are and how far you’ve come from being a complete novice.

"I knew this week was a difficult one for me, and I tried my hardest as I have every week. Listen, I didn't think I'd get past week one."

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
