Strictly Come Dancing has confirmed the songs and dances for the opening week of the 2025 series, with 14 celebrities set to take the dancefloor for their first individual routines - here's everything you need to know!

The BBC series returned on Saturday (20 September) with the pre-recorded launch show as each famous face found out who they would be partnered with, as well as showing off their moves in a group routine.

Now, the live competition begins in earnest as each team - minus Dani Dyer and Nikita Kuzmin following their withdrawal - performs for the first time, with the judges now able to get their scoring paddles out.

While we don't know the order of the performances, we do know which dances and songs will be shown, with the announcement being made on the show's Instagram account courtesy of a short video.

First up we have a heap of cha cha cha dances, with Vicky Pattison & Kai Widdrington and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey & Karen Hauer performing the dance to Ella Eyre's cover of The Emotions' 'Best of my Love' and 'Push It' by Salt-N-Pepa respectively.

Also performing the cha cha cha are Ellie Goldstein & Vito Coppola, with the pair dancing to 'Yes, and?' by Ariana Grande, with Ross King & Jowita Przystal taking on the same dance to Katy Perry's 'California Gurls'.

Chris Robshaw & Nadiya Bychkova will take on the notoriously difficult samba to EMF's 'Unbelievable', while Balvinder Sopal & Julian Caillon will be doing the same dance to KC & The Sunshine Band's '(Shake Shake Shake) Shake Your Booty'.

We also have a pair of jives from Lewis Cope & Katya Jones and Karen Carney & Carlos Gu, with each team dancing to 'Get Ready' by The Temptations and Blondie's iconic song 'One Way or Another' respectively.

Rounding out the Latin side of the night are Tom Skinner & Amy Dowden, with the pair dancing the fiery paso doble to 'Battle Without Honour or Humanity' by Hotei - expect some cape-waving!

Over on the Ballroom side, we have a pair of American smooth dances, with La Voix & Aljaž Škorjanec dancing to 'Pink Pony Club' by Chappell Roan. Also taking on the dance are George Clarke & Alexis Warr, who will be dancing to the tune of Myles Smith's 'Stargazing'.

Alex Kingston & Johannes Radebe will be performing the viennese waltz to Michael Bublé's cover of Arthur Hamilton's 'Cry Me a River', while Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink & Lauren Oakley will be dancing a quickstep to 'Chelsea Dagger' by The Fratellis.

Finally, we're taking a trip Down Under as all-Australian pairing Stefan Dennis & Dianne Buswell will be dancing to Barry Crocker's iconic 'Neighbours Theme', with the pair hoping to impress the judges with a foxtrot.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
