Taskmaster has unveiled the cast for its New Year's Treat.

Following on the heels of the season 18 finale, Little Alex Horne and Greg Davies will return over the festive period with a brand new crop of celebrities for a special episode.

The first celebrity contestant confirmed for the New Year's Treat is This Morning and Good Morning Britain's money-saving expert Martin Lewis. The financial advisor has hosted ITV's The Martin Lewis Money Show since 2012.

Legendary footballer David James played for the England team between 1997 and 2010. The goalkeeper had a long Premier League career with standout matches for Liverpool, Aston Villa, Manchester City, West Ham United, and Portsmouth.

The third celebrity contestant set for the New Year's Treat will be legendary TV actor Sue Johnston, known for her roles in Coronation Street, The Royle Family and Downton Abbey. Throughout her esteemed career, Johnston has won a British Comedy Award and received a BAFTA TV Award nomination for Best Comedy Performance.

Rounding out the New Year's Treat cast will be mathematician and TV presenter Professor Hannah Fry, who has fronted the BBC's The Secret Genius of Modern Life and Uncharted with Hannah Fry.

Transmission details for Taskmaster's New Year's Treat will be announced in due course.

In the meantime, Taskmaster fans can enjoy more of the franchise every Friday night on Channel 4 with the kid-themed spin-off show Junior Taskmaster.

Rose Matafeo and her assistant Mike Wozniak oversee a tournament of junior contestants where the winners of each week's heat will return for a grand final to crown the season 1 champion.

Taskmaster will return for its New Year's Treat this festive season on Channel 4. Junior Taskmaster airs on Fridays on Channel 4.
