It was the Emmy Awards last night (September 18) and for every winner came a handful of losers. And then there was Jackie Hoffman, who was both winning AND losing all at once.

Among the night's biggest winners was HBO's Big Little Lies, a miniseries based on Liane Moriarty's titular novel and set in a fictional American seaside town called Monterey.

While Nicole Kidman took home the lead actress gong for her role, she was also joined on the winners' list by one of Big Little Lies' other leading ladies, Laura Dern.

Dern won Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her role as Renata Klein, having been nominated five times previously.

One person who wasn't so happy to see Dern take home the gong was fellow nominee Jackie Hoffman.

Nominated for her role in Ryan Murphy's Joan Crawford and Bette Davis biopic Feud, the actress could be seen visibly yelling 'damn it' as Dern was announced as the winner (which was pretty hilarious).

Post-ceremony, Hoffman took to her own Twitter feed to share her thoughts on Dern's win, which she quipped was solely down to Hollywood 'elitism'.

But just in case you were in any doubt that Hoffman – noted for her comedy monologues – was having a bit of fun, she went on to make a series of outlandish tweets accusing Dern of all sorts of acts.

She's totally joking you guys, so chill!

See? No feud here.
