ITV's Annabel Scholey-fronted new crime drama Winter has just announced new cast members as filming gets underway.
Scholey (The Split) stars alongside Red Eye's Richard Armitage in the series that follows forensic pathologist Dr Ethan Winter (Armitage). With his "brilliance, sharp intellect and rule-breaking approach", Winter partners with DI Lauren Bell (Scholey) to help the police solve "some of the most complex murder cases" (via the synopsis).
Joining the pair in the upcoming six-part series will be House of the Dragon and Brassic star Jamie Kenna as well as Adwoa Akoto (Surface), Deirdre Mullins (Bad Sisters, The Couple Next Door) and Rishi Rian (Ridley).
3 Body Problem's Carlotta Banat is in the cast list, too, as is Josh Barrow (Hostage, Vera), Jay Taylor, Ellis Elijah and Evie Coles.
Dubbed a "captivating police procedural" by ITV, the series' synopsis reads: "Winter possesses an extraordinary analytical mind, capable of impeccable deductive reasoning which perfectly complements DI Lauren Bell…a meticulous, no-nonsense detective who is as driven as Winter when working on a case.

ITV has confirmed that each episode will explore its own "compelling" and self-contained crime story, "with resulting guest casting".
"A personal story thread, the unsolved murder of someone close to Winter, runs beneath the six-part series, as it still haunts his every move and he is intent on unofficially investigating the case and bringing the murderer to justice," the synopsis adds.

Production on the six-part series will take place in Bristol and Belgium. A release date has not yet been confirmed.
Winter is based on the French TV series Balthazar, which ran from 2018 to 2023. The latter was created by Clothilde Jamin and Clélia Constantine.
Dries Vos (The Couple Next Door, Professor T) heads up the team for Winter as the police procedural's director, while Matt Baker (Professor T) serves as a producer on the series.
Winter will air on ITV.
