The ITVX and Disney+ deal that has seen the streaming services share their content with each other is still going on, with crime drama The Bay making its debut on The House of Mouse's platform.

The show is set in Morecambe Bay following the local police force as they investigate all sorts of grisly crimes, but matters are complicated by our protagonist's very messy personal life.

As is the case with most of the shows in this ITVX/Disney+ deal, it's only the first season of The Bay that has become available on Disney's platform.

That's because it's designed to give viewers a 'taster' of what's available on the other streamer, so if you head over to ITVX you'll find the entirety of The Bay there.

The first season, which starred Morven Christie in the lead role of DS Lisa Armstrong, is the one that received the most attention and is the only season that has enough reviews to qualify for a score on Rotten Tomatoes.

That score is a strong 80% from the 15 collected reviews. That means that nearly all those reviews are at least generally positive.

"Suspects and police officers with shared secrets? Check. Information wilfully withheld by the writer? Check. Will you be hooked? Check," wrote The Guardian, adding: "The Bay is what it is and you can’t fault it. It's a satisfying knotty, plotty hour."

"All in all, a decent drama worth getting embroiled in — but it doesn't grip like it could," said The Standard, while The Daily Telegraph called it "basically Baychurch, to the point that it would be of little surprise if Olivia Colman strode in in a lank grey trouser suit and started crying".

Season 1 of The Bay is now streaming on Disney+, while the whole show is on ITVX.
