Line of Duty star Vicky McClure has announced a "very surreal" career move away from the small screen.
The actor, known for her part as Kate Fleming in the BBC police drama, has added another string to her bow after undertaking a special role in the music industry.
In a post on Instagram, it was confirmed that Vicky had collaborated with Sheffield-based band Reverend and the Makers, with the actor providing vocals for their latest single, 'Haircut'.
In a joint post with the band, Vicky wrote: "I'm no Whitney [Houston] ๐ but I love music. Making this with Jon [McClure] and Rev was such a chilled experience. All I hope is you enjoy it, sing and dance along."
The accompanying video featured a snippet of the new song as the star took centre stage with her microphone, dancing to the beat. She was joined by the rest of the band, including frontman Jon.

"My love for music has always been known, with Our Dementia Choir & Day Fever but this was totally unexpected!," said Vicky of the track (via NME). "I love the song, Jon & Rev, always up for trying something new."
The track marks Vicky's official singing debut and was first played yesterday on Jo Whiley's BBC Radio 2 show.
The actor posted her reaction to the exclusive radio play via her Instagram Story, declaring: "This is all very surreal!"
Meanwhile, fans were delighted by the clip of the song and flooded the comment section with praise for Vicky's vocal abilities.

"Absolutely brilliant, she's so talented, love her," one wrote, while a second added: "Just when I thought I couldn't love her more omg, love it."
