Avoidance, the hit British series starring Taskmaster's Romesh Ranganathan and Jessica Knappett, is leaving BBC iPlayer in the coming days.

The comedy-drama sees Ranganathan portray Jonathan, a figure who has gone through life "desperately" trying to avoid difficult conversations. His resolve is tested, however, when his life is turned upside down following his separation from Claire (Knappett).

Jonathan arranges to live with his sister Danielle (Mandeep Dhillon) and her wife Courtney (Lisa McGrillis), quickly ushering his son, Spencer (Kieran Logendra), along with him. Old habits resurface, though, as he neglects to tell his son the truth regarding their relocation.

Created by Ranganathan and Benjamin Green, the series has aired two seasons so far in 2022 and 2024. While the first season is still on streaming service BBC iPlayer, fans don't have long to watch the drama unfold, with six episodes due to leave the streaming service on 10 June.

Avoidance, which is co-written by Ranganathan and Knappett, serves as a Taskmaster reunion of sorts, with the pair appearing in the first and seventh seasons of the Channel 4 series respectively.

Aisling Bea, who starred in the fifth season of Alex Horne's panel game show, also makes an appearance during the second season of Avoidance, with the actor joining the series alongside Matthew Lewis.

Ranganathan, known for his various programmes alongside fellow comedian Rob Beckett, recently participated in a new venture when he was spotted working at a Surrey bakery back in February.

"It was nice to meet people. I just wanted to get involved," the comedian said (via BBC Radio Surrey). "The crowds are better than my tour show. I’m loving it… We’ve been working on this new thing. It’s this chocolate, cookie dough croissant."

He added: "I’m not going to lie to you - it’s not healthy food. It’s in development right now but it’s coming soon. I don’t want to overstate it, but I think it’s going to change baking forever. It’s going to revolutionise the industry."

Avoidance is streaming on BBC iPlayer until 10 June.
