Taskmaster fan-favourite Sara Pascoe has said the stacked line-up of new viral Prime Video series Last One Laughing was kept a secret from contestants.

Premiered on 20 March on the streamer, the comedy show is adapted from a Japanese format and is airing its own UK season after a successful run in other countries.

The concept sees a group of ten comedians trying to make each other laugh while attempting to maintain a straight face at increasingly ridiculous sketches.

Speaking on the appeal of the show, Pascoe, who stars on the UK version, said producers amped up the surprise factor by not disclosing who'd be on the show.

"It was an amazing group of people," Pascoe told Metro.

"They didn't want us to know who the others were. So a couple of us knew a couple of people because we'd mentioned it to friends. But no one knew the actual extent of how good the line-up was," she said.

Amazon wanted the comedian to be taken aback by their co-stars, with this season's stacked line-up including Richard Ayoade, Roisin Conaty, Daisy May Cooper, Judi Love and Joe Lycett, among others.

"What they really wanted was this air of us being unprepared, on the back foot," Pascoe said. "If we'd known the line-up, perhaps it would have lost some of the magic."

Hosted by Jimmy Carr, the show is among the most watched on Prime Video, climbing to number one on the streamer earlier in April.
