The cast for the series is rounded out by Derry Girls' Saoirse-Monica Jackson, as well as Stephen Walters, Darci Shaw, Julie Graham, and Gavin & Stacey's Laura Aikman.

Reflecting on starring on the series, Bean admitted enjoying the project so much that he felt a "genuine sense of loss" when filming wrapped.

"I walked away from the set really upset," he said speaking to the BBC. "I remember feeling this genuine sense of loss, but obviously I had a sense of great satisfaction because this was mould-breaking television."

This City Is Ours premiered on Sunday, March 23 at 9pm on BBC One and is currently available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
