Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins, the former hosts of The Great British Bake Off, have said they are “crying with hysteria” after reuniting for a new project.
The pair hosted the baking show during its stint on BBC One between 2010 and 2016, continuing a partnership that first began after meeting at university in the 1980s.
Now, after 30 years in show business, the pair have reunited once again for Mel & Sue Should Know by Now, a brand new podcast from Audible in which the duo discuss all the things they “should have” learned over the years.

“We all have things in our life that we should know by now, but don’t,” reads the logline. “Absences in our knowledge and skillset that are frankly shameful in an adult. Things that would be too embarrassing to ask anyone to explain – except our very best friend…
“Listen in as Mel and Sue tackle their ignorance head on, asking each other to explain something that they still don’t know."

Topics teased include parallel parking, bread-making, Bake Off wrap parties, eating habits, "disastrous" early comedy gigs and Sue's "lack of boundaries" with her dog.
“Mel and Sue are here to help us all feel a little better about our own ignorance, and ultimately give us a front row seat to their infectiously funny relationship,” the podcast synopsis concludes, whilst promising a blend of “comedy, storytelling and unexpectedly useful insights”.

“I was crying with hysteria and eating crisps throughout. To be honest, I’m still not over the guinea pig story,” said Sue of the new project, with Mel adding: “Thirty-seven years of friendship and the old girl can still make me literally wheeze my lungs up with laughter. I have not had so much fun in AGES!!!”
Mel & Sue Should Know by Now is available to stream on Audible, with the six episodes titled ‘Bread and Dogs’, ‘Lentils and Pants’, ‘Parking and Floor Food’, ‘Kink and Hairdressers’, ‘Laughter and Stuff’ and ‘Talent and Age’.
The Great British Bake Off and its spin-off Bake Off: An Extra Slice both air on Channel 4 in the UK. In the US, it's known as The Great British Baking Show, and streams on Netflix.
