The Great British Bake Off star Prue Leith has given some advice to new judge Nigella Lawson, who will be taking her place alongside Paul Hollywood when the show returns later this year.
Leith announced she was leaving the Channel 4 baking competition in January, after a nine-year stint as a judge.
Appearing on The One Show, Leith was asked what words of wisdom she had for Nigella and said: "Do you think Nigella Lawson needs tips from me? Absolutely not.
"She is so much her own person, she is terrific. She is much loved, she really knows her onions and her cakes and her croissants and everything else.
"She’ll do the job brilliantly, she has loads of experience. I am certainly not trying to give Nigella advice, unless 'it’s just enjoy it'. It’s such a lovely job and who nicer to get it."

Leith also explained why she made the decision to leave the show after nearly a decade.
"I did love the show, I still do love the show and I will miss them," Leith explained. "I will miss the guys and I’ll miss the crew and everything, but nine years is enough and I’m running out of time so I need more time to do other things that I want to do.
"A lot of that is more telly but different, but other things are I’d just like a summer holiday. When you work on Bake Off, you never get a summer holiday because it films all the way through summer."
Leith added: "So I thought I need to take my family to France for a holiday, I need to go to Italy. I can go to lovely sunny places in the South but in the winter, but I want a summer holiday in Europe."

Last month Lawson spoke about her excitement at landing the coveted gig, saying: "I'm looking forward to being part of the gang. I'm so excited, [but] I'm daunted… I'm a ramshackle kind of a baker."
"I think why Bake Off really appeals to people in another deep emotional way is, for many people, especially more recently, there's a breakdown of a sense of community and connection between people and I think that Bake Off really celebrates that," she added.
The Great British Bake Off and its spin-off Bake Off: An Extra Slice both air on Channel 4 in the UK. In the US, it's known as The Great British Baking Show, and streams on Netflix.
