The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer has confirmed a return date – and fans won't have to wait too long.

The new season of the celebrity spin-off recently confirmed its list of stars taking part, as well as new co-judge Caroline Waldegrave OBE, who is stepping in to replace Prue Leith.

Channel 4 has now revealed that the show will return on Sunday, March 16 at 7.40pm.

Among those taking part are TV presenters Kate Garraway, Roman Kemp, Sarah Beeny, Gloria Hunniford, Scarlette and Stuart Douglas, pop star Self Esteem (Rebecca Lucy Taylor) and Chicken Shop Date's Amelia Dimoldenberg.

Comedians Adam Buxton, Phil Wang, Sophie Willan, Jamali Maddix and Tommy Tiernan are also entering the tent, as are change maker Ellie Goldstein, podcasters Chris and Rosie Ramsey, as well as The Split's Meera Syal, Ghosts' Jim Howick, Anne's Maxine Peake and Famalam's Gbemisola Ikumelo.

"The kindest and most knowledgeable teacher, the bakers and viewers will love her," she wrote on Instagram Stories.

The two stars have a history as longstanding friends, with Caroline being the co-owner and managing director of Leiths School of Food and Wine.

Speaking previously about her exit, Prue – who will continue to appear on the main show – told This Morning: "It's mainly because these things are filmed back to back.

"The whole way through the summer, so you start in April and you end at the end of August. Honestly, you get no time off. And, I'm getting a bit old and there's places I want to go."

The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer will return on Sunday, March 16 at 7.40pm on Channel 4. The Great British Bake Off and its spin-off Bake Off: An Extra Slice both air on Channel 4 in the UK. In the US, it's known as The Great British Baking Show, and streams on Netflix.
