One Day's Leo Woodall has explained why his role in Apple TV+'s new thriller Prime Target "felt like a challenge" he wanted to take on.
The new series, which released its first two episodes on the streaming service today, stars Woodall as mathematics genius Edward Brooks, who is on the verge of finding a pattern in prime numbers that will allow him to access every computer in the world.
However, he soon discovers that an unseen enemy is trying to destroy his idea as a conspiracy unfolds around him.

Explaining what drew him to the role, Woodall told Digital Spy: "I've never taken on a role like Ed. It felt like a challenge I wanted to undertake, and hopefully learn some things about myself along the way and see if I had some strengths that I didn't know I had.
"I think for me that was one of the first pulls. And I could tell it was going to be an action ride, a good thriller, and I loved that aspect too."

While the actor enjoyed getting to know the real Cambridge rowing team for the show, he wishes he had gotten to do some more action-packed stunts, like "diving underwater and beating up some bad guys".
However, he did tease that this could come to fruition in a potential second season.

We also caught up with Woodall's co-star Quintessa Swindell, who stars in the series as an NSA agent who teams up with Edward in an effort to unravel the conspiracy.
"When I first read the script I was like, 'Oh my god, me as an NSA agent? I don't know if that's going to be believable'," the Black Adam star shared.
"And I think for that exact reason, it made me curious because after I spoke to the team they were like, 'No, that's what we want. We want to reshape people's perceptions of who can be in these positions'.
"And so for me, I was like, 'Oh, OK, so what we're doing is representational'. So then I was like, '100%, let's try it and do it a little bit differently'."
Prime Target is available to watch now on Apple TV+ with new episodes releasing Wednesdays.
