Netflix has teased Black Doves season 2 following the first's success.

The spy thriller debuted on the streamer earlier this month, and has become both a critical and viewer hit since.

Ahead of its premiere, we already knew that a second season was on the way, and now Netflix has shared a festive teaser to get fans excited for what's to come.

"Here's to Black Doves season one," Knightley toasts as she raises a glass of champagne with her fellow actor, Whishaw noting: "Don't forget season two, darling."

The two actors then take out bullets before dropping them in their drinks, the clip then teasing: "Black Doves will return for season 2."

The series follows Knightley's character Helen Webb, a spy who sets out to avenge the murder of her lover, while also focusing on Whishaw's Sam Young, an old friend who is brought back to protect her.

The series debuted to an impressive 100% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, and currently sits in the Top 10 most viewed shows on Netflix.

Creator Joe Barton previously spoke of the "pressure" of working on two seasons before the first had even debuted.

"It's a different kind of pressure now," he told Deadline. "When you do a show, you are always wanting it to do well to get a second season, but now they've already let us come back, the pressure is about hoping it does well to reward that faith."

Black Doves is available on Netflix, while season 2 is on the way.
