For those who are more than ready for answers, here's everything we know about Alice in Borderland season three.
When is Alice in Borderland season 3's release date?
Alice in Borderland will return 25 September 2025, as mentioned above.
What to Read Next
The confirmed release date was announced in early July, much to the excitement of fans.
It's been a long time coming, as viewers have now been patiently waiting for just over two and a half years for the new season, following the two year hiatus between seasons one and two.
The latest trailer has gone some way to teasing the direction of the follow-up season, and it is just as intriguing as you'd hoped (more on that below).
Alice in Borderland spoilers follow beyond this point.
Who is in the Alice in Borderland season 3 cast?
Arisu (Kento Yamazaki) and Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya) have survived explosions, stab wounds and various other life-or-death scraps just to join us for more.
Away from the main pair, there were a couple of surprise visitors who we thought had died in Alice in Borderland season one, only for them to pop up in season two: Niragi (Dori Sakurada) and Aguni (Shô Aoyagi).
Though thoroughly battered (Niragi more so), they made it out of season two – so we expect to see them again in season three.
The same can't be said for Tatta. Considering he was buried partway through the season, we're pretty sure Yutaro Watanabe's character will not be rising from the dead.
Confirming Arisu and Usagi's return following season three's announcement, Netflix said: "With Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya reprising their roles as Arisu and Usagi in season three, fans can look forward to witnessing the evolution of their characters in the ever-dangerous landscape of Borderland.
"Shinsuke Sato's continued direction will also ensure that the series maintains its trademark intensity and cinematic excellence."
Also dragging themselves across the finish line were Aya Asahina, Nijirô Murakami and Ayaka Miyoshi's characters Kuina, Chishiya and Ann, respectively, so we expect them to reprise their roles.
Newcomer Yuri Tsunematsu made a great addition to the cast as Heiya, and since she didn't end up on the chopping block, there's no reason we shouldn't see her again too.
What will happen in Alice in Borderland season 3?
The latest trailer dropped a surprising tidbit of information as it revealed that Arisu and Usagi are now married and back in the real world. However, haunting flashbacks and nightmares about Borderland plague them.
Even worse, the games are not quite finished with them yet as the official synopsis for season three reveals they are about to be pulled back in.
It reads: "After Usagi is abducted and left unconscious by a mysterious scholar obsessed with the afterlife, Arisu returns to the perilous Borderland to save her.
"Teaming up with new players, they must face the yet-unseen Joker stage in a desperate bid to find a way back to their original world."
Fans who have read the manga are also in for an extra special treat because the Joker isn't actually in the source material. At least not quite in the same way that it is suggested in Alice in Borderland.
The joker in the manga is just the ferryman of Borderland, which means this new development of his characterisation could take the story down new and exciting uncharted territory.
Like Arisu we have no idea what to expect, except that we're certain there's more gameplay to come for the gang.
The arrival of the Joker could lead to an expansion of the fairytale characters. After all, there are plenty more possible Alice in Wonderland references to be explored. For starters, we haven't seen Tweedledum and Tweedledee making words mean what they want them to mean. So, what could a third season hold?
The cards have increased in difficulty, intensity and severity as the gamers transcended to the face cards level, which means the Joker now has the potential to be the cruellest of them all.
If the Joker adopts the characteristics of its name, there could be a series of sinister tricks and manipulations in store for Arisu's battered gang as they continue to be puppeteered by the gamemasters.
Of course, the show caught up with the source material at the end of season two which means the story really could go anywhere.
Is there a trailer for Alice in Borderland season 3?
Finally, yes! The season three trailer for Alice in Borderland has arrived.
Devastation is on the cards as the trailer reveals destruction intertwined with chaotic flashbacks for Arisu and Usagi who are struggling to adapt to life in the real world.
It's gripping but don't take our word for it. Check it out.
Alice in Borderland seasons one and two are available to stream now on Netflix.
