Laurie Brett said that she couldn't do anything to save Jo Joyner during EastEnders Live.
Joyner's infamous "How's Adam?" mistake caused the actress who plays Tanya Branning to have a panic attack.
"Any one of us could have done it," Brett said in an interview with The Sun.
"The thing was, I didn't have any lines after that. My reaction to: 'How's Adam?' was the same as it would have been to: 'How's Ian?' We were trying to direct the audience into thinking it might be Ian who was the killer.
"So I couldn't do anything to save her."
Brett previously admitted that she knew about the solution to the 'Who Killed Lucy Beale?' mystery for three months.
