Neighbours legend Ryan Moloney has shared a disappointing decision about his beloved character Toadie Rebecchi. The actor starred as Toadie from 1995 to 2024, and made numerous guest appearances before the soap officially ended last year.
Moloney previously explained that Toadie's departure wasn't his choice and he was actually axed from the show. However, in an interview with The Sun, he shared that he'd be unlikely to reprise his role if Neighbours attempted another revival.
"I mean, it'd be lovely if it did come back, just for the show itself," said the star. "For something that's had such longevity and history, and has had such an effect on so many people, and still has so many fans.

"But I'm not sure what something like that, free-to-air TV, looks like now, whether it still gets that kind of traction, or whether it's all moved to pay TV, or even just people watching YouTube.
"But who knows what the future holds. As for me and Toadie, I'm done. That chapter is closed."

Neighbours was first cancelled back in 2022 by UK broadcaster Channel 5, who decided to stop airing the show. An emotional finale saw iconic alums, such as Kylie Minogue, returning to say farewell to Ramsay Street.
A year later, the soap was picked up by Amazon, to air on its free streaming service Freevee. However, in 2025, Neighbours was cancelled for the second time, and aired an open-ended final episode in December.

One person who was noticeably missing from the episode was fan favourite Toadie, who made his last on-screen appearance in November 2025. Neighbours boss Jason Herbison confirmed that they had reached out to Moloney, but he was unavailable during the filming dates.
"It was lovely for it to come back. I'm not sure we had the perfect finale," Moloney reflected.
He added: "I've always joked that it would have been amazing for there to have been a big bomb threat and Toadie jumped on the bomb to save the street. That would have been a great way to go out ha!"
Neighbours concluded in December 2025, but classic episodes are available to watch via Prime Video and YouTube.
