Wendy struggles to explain the events that led to her sheltering in The Waterhole office with Quinn to a cold and unforgiving Andrew. He leaves before she can get it all out, and so she turns to Sadie, hoping to get her on side.
Although Sadie is sick of being caught up in her parents' arguments, she can't help feeling sorry for her mother once she learns that Quinn tricked Wendy into meeting him under the guise of being her next mentor.
Wendy approaches Andrew about putting an intervention order on Quinn, in the hopes it puts an end to Quinn's interference and helps win back some of Andrew's trust. But he shakes her by claiming that Quinn isn't the problem here – Wendy is.
What to Read Next
Andrew reveals that her surprise presence caused him to freeze up at a vital moment, humiliating himself in front of his boss and jeopardising the safety of the hostages.
Later, thinking she understands the source of Andrew's anger better, Wendy makes one more attempt to make amends, but Andrew rejects her completely. He's heard this speech too many times.
Meanwhile, having come clean to the police, Holly is allowed to return home without a charge… for now. Karl, Susan and Byron try to keep her mind off her turbulent future, but Holly can't help looking up the prison sentence for theft.
Learning that she could get ten years if convicted, Holly spirals, horrified by the ramifications of what she's done and pessimistic about her chances. But it's Paul who breaks her out of her panic, thanking her for saving his life during the siege and letting her know that – no matter what her future holds – she'll always have a job at Lassiters if she wants it.
Elsewhere, with the adrenaline of the siege over, Terese is left unmoored. She checks in on Paul, getting drawn into the comfort of one of their old routines together, but forcing herself to leave before she can get too comfortable.
Terese flees to Susan, but Susan and Karl are so focused on Holly they can't see that Terese is desperate for company. She returns home, but unable to bear its silent emptiness, she turns to Jane… and finds that door closed to her as well.
Disheartened, she forces herself to go back to Number 22, bumping into Paul on the way. The only one who can see she's struggling, he offers her companionship. Terese is tempted, but turns him down, feigning enthusiasm at the idea of having her house all to herself. She embarks on a night of self-care… but when confronted with a reminder of the life Toadie has taken from her, she falls to pieces.
