Neighbours star Tim Robards has hinted that Pierce Greyson and Chloe Brennan's relationship may not be over for good.
The Aussie soap will be revisiting Chloe's feelings for Elly Conway next week, after she was recently rejected by Pierce, who is her other love interest.
When Pierce later asks Chloe out for a drink, she turns him down as she's now more focused on Elly instead.
Unsurprisingly, this leaves Pierce fearing that he may have made a mistake, paving the way for a big new Ramsay Street love triangle.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Tim – who plays Pierce – said: "He worries that he might have missed his time – it's a bit frustrating.
"Normally on Neighbours, the characters don't have much common sense and never seem to learn. However, on this occasion, Pierce realises that he might need to accept that Chloe isn't ready to be with him at the moment and he needs to play the long game.

"He doesn't want to push it and he doesn't want to be someone who is needy – he wants to be someone who has control and has their power back. He's not in a good place at the moment and it's not a good time to get into a relationship when you aren't in a good place. He's starting to learn that."
Explaining why Pierce turned Chloe down initially, Tim added: "Pierce is finding it hard to trust women and he is finding that his wealth is getting in the way of that.
"He's wary of Chloe because she bounces around and is a bit whimsical and flighty. She changes her mind a lot. Piece is fearful that she's going to turn around a day later and say she isn't really into it anymore.
"When the Chloe and Elly stuff happens, it further reinforces to him that she is not really ready. It's all about trust really. He is used to success and wealth in business and with that came all these girls, but now he is looking for something more.
"Chloe isn't really into his money as such – she likes him for different reasons. He brings a balance to her life and calms her down, whereas she brings a fun, playful and childlike energy to his life.
"But he is still at a point where he doesn't know if he can trust her. He has just had his heart broken, and wants to know that if he commits to Chloe, it won't be thrown back at him."
Discussing whether he's received any backlash from ardent 'Chelly' fans, Tim said: "There are going to be people who love the Chelly relationship and there are going to be people who like Chloe and Pierce together.
"For me, it's just about the way it's written. I just play the character and I do what I am told to do. I can act it the best I can but I can't write it so that is out of my control. I don't worry about it as I can only worry about the things that are in my control.
"I really want people to see more to Pierce than just romance though as that's what you've seen so far. I would love people to see what has built him up to be the man he is, because to be that successful, you've got to have some balls.
"I would love to see some challenges from a business side of things. The longer this goes on between Elly and Chloe, it gives Pierce a chance to meet more people and get involved with other characters in Erinsborough. I would really like people to see more of that."
Neighbours airs weekdays 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
