Home and Away: Ziggy hears the truth from Dean

Dean is shocked when he discovers that Ziggy kicked Mackenzie out for hitting on Tane. Tane and Ziggy are at the Parata house lamenting Mackenzie's radio silence when Ari returns home and tells them about Jai and Amber's departure. Ziggy leaves to find Dean and presses him to explain what happened. A frustrated Dean admits they left because of her.

Ziggy's shocked as Dean elaborates, explaining how he is still in love with her – which gave Amber no choice but to leave. Following on from Tane's discomfort over Ziggy and Dean's relationship, Ari gives Ziggy food for thought when he questions why she always runs off to be with Dean.

Ziggy meets back up with Tane, but doesn't tell him about Dean's revelation. Back in the pier apartment, Dean finally receives a call from Mackenzie – who seems to be in some sort of drunken state. Dean immediately heads out to meet her, but what is going on with Mackenzie?

Meanwhile, Ari and Mia lie in bed quietly. Last night's chat about trying for another baby is the elephant in the room. Eventually Mia decides it would be better to talk about it than leave it hanging over them, but Ari is wary now after her reaction last night and makes an excuse to get up.

In the kitchen, Ari begins to talk incessantly about other things to stop Mia from bringing it up again, as Tane and Ziggy arrive. When Mia is forced to insist that Ari walk her to work, Tane detects that something is amiss between the couple. Ari manages to block Mia by talking the whole way to the Surf Club, although Mia calls him on it – telling him they have to have the hard conversation at some point.

Returning home, Ari is forced to cover when Tane questions Ari about the tension between him and Mia. Tane goes to the gym, where Mia explains what happened between her and Ari. Tane thinks that if neither of them really want to have the difficult conversation, then maybe they should just leave things be.

Back home, Ari starts unpacking Mia's belongings from the city when he finds an old wooden box. Later, Mia returns home to find an emotional Ari sitting on the floor, surrounded by the contents of the box – mementos of their baby Kauri's life.

Elsewhere, in the Diner, Justin relays to Alf and Irene that Leah and John have left to investigate the possible Susie sighting. Later outside the bait shop, Justin takes his frustrations out on an outboard motor he's fixing for Alf – snapping its starter cord. Justin returns home in a mood and takes some medication for his back pain.

In the Diner, Alf and Irene express their concern for Justin – believing that Leah and John's trip could be triggering something in him. However, Justin's mood appears to have been changed by the medication when he arrives for some physio in the gym in a much better place.

After receiving help from Mia with his programme, Justin gets a call from Leah – and he returns to Alf and Irene at the bait shop to report that Leah and John are on their way home. Justin apologises for his earlier snap, blaming his mood on his sore back and praising his medication for fixing it.
