Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter has unveiled her unexpected new look, revealing that she's had to make a lifestyle change due to medical advice. The actor, who first played Theresa McQueen on the Channel 4 soap in 2008, shared the change on her Instagram.

In a post yesterday, the star showed off that she's now a spectacle wearer, and of course she went for a designer pair (Prada, specifically).

"I honestly thought I'd dodged this one… but apparently not. Just been told I now need glasses", she wrote in the caption.

"What does this even mean?! I'm still processing the fact that things apparently aren't supposed to be blurry. However… I am actually loving my new glasses. Does this officially make me an adult now?"

Fellow glasses-wearers welcomed her to "the four eyes club", while one fan even suggested that she could be up for the Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year award (which seemingly hasn't happened since 2019).

Former Dancing on Ice professional skater Brianne Kilbane commented: "I'm sorry girl. So worth it tho. Plus, you look HOT!"

Porter recently sat down with Inside Soap for our special Mother's Day issue, alongside Naledi Rapotu, the actor taking over the role of Theresa's daughter Kathleen-Angel.

The recast character's new storyline sees her sleep with her best friend Ro Hutchinson's brother Ant, something that Theresa isn't thrilled to find out about.

"There is definitely friction between them, and a lot of shouting!" Porter said. "Kathleen-Angel is at an age where she thinks she can do what she wants.

"My mum was a single parent and I remember what I put her through, reading the script I was like: 'Yes, I’ve been there!' That’s why when you’re older you take your mum to the spa because you feel a bit bad."

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
