Hollyoaks’ Donny Clark will reconnect with his hidden past next week, as he catches up with his old friends from Brookside Close. There is a lot of nostalgia in the air as he merges his two identities – but will it be enough to win back Misbah Maalik?
Viewers will know that Donny used to go under a different name, with actor Louis Emerick playing the iconic character Mick Johnson in Brookside for 12 years. Last year, it was revealed that Mick faked his death in 2001 and assumed the identity of Donny.
Since he was sexually assaulted last year, Donny has been struggling to live with this devastating trauma. His relationship with Misbah ended over Christmas, and in this week’s scenes he gets in his friend Sinbad’s taxi to escape the village.
Next week, Donny is back, but the situation with him and Misbah hasn’t improved at all. While it was Misbah’s heartfelt words that made Donny return to the village, she admits that she only said what she knew would bring him back – and he was working with Superintendent Singh.

But Gemma and Vicky have a different view and refuse to give up on their dad. They realise that Donny is still deeply affected by what happened in Liverpool and encourage him to face Singh. And they aren’t the only ones who try to help…
"With Donny starting to drink heavily once again, Dodger is desperate to help his broken colleague," explains our Hollyoaks insider. "But things are still raw for Donny and he lashes out. Dodger reminds him that he’s the only one who truly understands what he’s been through – can he get Donny to open up?"
Later, Gemma comes up with another plan to help her dad and decides to introduce Misbah to Sinbad. A reunion takes place at Casa McQueen as Donny reconnects with both Tinhead and Sinbad – and he even puts his chef hat back on to recreate Mick’s famous pizza once again!

Vicky and Misbah later turn up at the restaurant to join in the fun, having been invited by Gemma. While Vicky is very impressed by her dad’s unexpected culinary skills, Misbah remains unsure.
Will introducing Misbah to ‘Mick’ be enough to bring her back to Donny again?
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
