Hollyoaks star Vera Chok has hinted at Honour Chen-Williams' reaction to her son Mason's secret.

Previous storylines have seen Honour's son Mason being manipulated into radical misogyny and incel culture by Eric Foster, but recent episodes have hinted that Eric's influence over Mason may be slipping.

Speaking to Inside Soap, Chok said that the discovery of Mason's secret is "a long way off" and that the family matriarch doesn't know her family's secrets despite being a therapist.

"Honour doesn't know much, she's a therapist, yet she is set on fixing everyone else. She has her eye on Serena and Lizzie, Dave is freaking out, and she assumes Mason is fine.

Hinting at what Honour's reaction might be when she finally finds out about Mason's secret, Chok said: "It will be horrific! I think Honour will be hard on herself, or she might blame Dave.

"Also profession-wise, it will be humiliating because it's her job to spot these things," explained Chok. "However, that's a long way off," she added.

When asked about the family dynamic and whether there are underlying tensions, the soap star said: "Of course, and there are a lot of questions too – like who are the kids' real parents?

"How do Honour and Dave feel about their exes? Are they even alive? The Chen-Williams family is one of different races, so how do they feel about each other? That all comes to the surface.

When things do eventually come to the surface, Chok said she would like Honour to turn to Tony and Diane but would love her to build a friendship with "feisty" Nancy or Donna-Marie.

"I suppose Tony and Diane would be a sensible choice, but not an exciting friendship for Honour. She likes feisty people, like Nancy – they're frenemies."

Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
