Hollyoaks couple Tony and Diane Hutchinson have finally been reunited, following months of hell.
Tony (Nick Pickard) was freed from his captivity at the pig farm in Hollyoaks Later last night (January 6), when Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) and Sylver (David Tag) came to his rescue and finished off killer Breda.
In Tuesday's (January 7) first-look E4 episode, Diane (Alex Fletcher) was about to go public with her relationship with Tony's father Edward (Joe McGann) when Misbah (Harvey Virdi) rushed past them with an injured Tony.
Upon hearing that her husband had been stabbed by Breda, Diane frantically questioned Edward about whether Tony would be able to survive the wound.
Once the medical team were able to temporarily stabilise Tony, Misbah revealed to Diane that Breda had been holding Tony captive for months at the pig farm — leaving Diane horrified that she ever believed her husband would betray her.
"That time when he phoned me, I should have known," she admitted. "I should have heard the fear and the terror in his voice… How do I tell him that five minutes before he came back, I told his dad that I loved him?"

Their conversation left Edward alone in the room with his son. In a disturbing scene, Edward contemplated not pressing the help button when Tony started struggling to breathe.
"Did you really have to pick now to come back? Just when Diane and I had become an item," he seethed.
In the end, Edward thought better of his devious actions, pressed the call button and then helped revive Tony. Once Tony regained consciousness, Diane arrived in the room for an emotional reunion.
"I'm so sorry," she told him.
Tony's mood darkened when Edward arrived to introduce him to his sister Verity (Eva O'Hara), leaving him confused. When Edward put his arm around Diane's waist, she angrily pulled him aside.
"This changes everything," Diane insisted. "You and me, we need to forget that anything ever happened."
Diane then returned to a tearful Tony, who admitted that he feared he would never get to see her or the kids again while held captive by Breda.
"The only thing that kept me going was the thought that I might see you again," Tony told her. "I love you, Diane."
"I love you too," she replied. "And I promise you I'm not going to let anything bad happen to you again. You know why? Because you're Tony Hutchinson and this village is nothing without you."
Unfortunately, Nick Pickard has hinted that there will indeed be dark times still to come for Tony as he processes the months he spent in captivity.
Hollyoaks airs Mondays through Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm.
