Hollyoaks newcomer Andrea Ali has spoken to Digital Spy about the mysterious dynamic between Celeste and Toby Faroe.
The show's hour-long Christmas special (December 20) revealed more about the new couple, as Celeste was shown to have a hold over her husband Toby while they were planning revenge.
The Faroes have come to the village to settle a score, as Toby is the long-lost child that Martine Deveraux gave up years ago. Celeste was furious with Toby when he risked blowing their cover by nearly telling the Deveraux family the truth.
Speaking to Digital Spy about what's going on, Andrea explained: "What's nice about how it's played out is that Celeste is the brains and Toby is the muscle! They have a dynamic that works.

"It leaves you wondering – what is it that Celeste has over Toby? Why does she control what he does and why does she have that power?

"That's what will keep people guessing. People may hate them, but they'll be intrigued to know more about their relationship.
"The two of them are coming in, meeting new people and testing the waters. It's seeing who they can play with, poke at and prod! That's also their way of trying to settle in."
Asked whether the pair are new villains, Andrea replied: "What's so interesting about the stories in Hollyoaks is that everyone is a villain to someone.

"Celeste could also be a hero. It just depends on the perspective you're looking at it from. I think that's why people are so intrigued by new characters coming in – they'll be asking: 'Can I relate to them or can I not?'
"Even though what we're doing might seem bad, it'll be interesting to see how it all unfolds. Even with villains, you don't necessarily get past the point of no return – there'll still be people who love them."
Andrea admitted that she and co-star Bobby Gordon, who plays Toby, have been discovering more secrets about the new arrivals as they go along.

She said: "You know some things, but it's not until it's written in the scripts that you get confirmation. We don't know what's going to happen in real life and it's the same on the show.
"We're figuring things out as we go, and things are developing nicely. We'll have relationships with different characters in the village and that's what will keep people excited.
"They're newbies who are coming in and messing with the fan favourites!"
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4. All of the show's episodes up to New Year's Eve are currently available to watch as a box set on All4.
