Hollyoaks' James Nightingale has had his world torn apart this week after Goldie McQueen found the grave of his former partner Harry Thompson, confirming his death to the villagers.
In last night's episode, James was then saved from a potentially life-threatening situation by his son Romeo as he continued to struggle with his grief.
And while there'll be some challenging times ahead, thankfully, it looks like James will ultimately find the help and support he needs and get things back on track soon – and he'll even find a new romance in a surprising place.
Speaking to Radio Times, actor Gregory Finnegan said: "I am filming with a new love interest as we speak. James is going to get romantically involved with someone who currently resides in the village.
"It's an interesting one and I don't think anyone will see it coming, it's a bit out of left field. I'm looking forward to finding out what viewers make of it when it airs in a few months' time…"
He continued to add that losing Harry is "definitely the lowest point James has ever been at".
What to Read Next
"This new love interest might be a rebound thing, it's early days and certainly takes him by surprise," he said. "They're not planning for a big future or anything, but then anything's possible!"
Interestingly, James will come into contact with a new character next week, and it's someone that Finnegan knows very well in real life.
Hollyoaks airs Mondays through Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm.
