Hollyoaks has announced plans to pair up classic characters Luke Morgan and Cindy Cunningham later this year.
Digital Spy can exclusively reveal that a new romance will begin for the fan favourites when Luke returns to the village.
Show bosses had previously kept fans guessing by teasing "a surprising relationship" for Gary Lucy's character, who's heading back to the Channel 4 soap after an extended break.
Finally solving the mystery, Hollyoaks' executive producer Bryan Kirkwood told Digital Spy: "Cindy has been missing from the show for too long. We love her and she is adored by our audience. Stephanie Waring is really important to us.

"We really wanted Luke to come back and look forward this time, rather than looking backwards. He is also one of our all-time icons and is loved by the viewers.

"What's messy in this situation is that Cindy is Mandy's stepsister and that gives us great territory to explore."
The show's boss continued: "We take our time with the love story. Cindy and Luke do fall into bed together, but they don't fall in love with each other immediately!
"It's great to see that strong, magnificent and sexy side of Cindy coming out. It felt like maybe she'd been demoted to being a supporting character, but this next year is going to be huge for her."

Luke is currently in prison for GBH – a storyline written in to allow Gary Lucy to take part in The Full Monty stage tour.
Upon Luke's return, Hollyoaks will be revisiting the storyline of baby DJ's paternity. He'll also play a central role in this year's October stunt episodes.
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
