Hollyoaks has reportedly added a new cast member in the shape of Chris Simmons.

Previously part of ITV's long-running police procedural The Bill, Chris portrayed DC Mickey Webb between 1998 and 2010. Other notable appearances include a guest role on Casualty and as Kat Moon's EastEnders love interest back in 2011.

He explained: "It's incredibly important to show that if somebody speaks out about it, there are people who will listen, which will encourage survivors watching the show to speak out."
