Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale has confirmed the culprit who spiked Noah Dingle leading to the limo crash tragedy - but it's raised more questions than answers.

Viewers previously saw Noah's mum Charity swerve and crash the girls' limo into a frozen lake in order to avoid hitting her son who was wandering aimlessly in the road.

As the rest of the women struggled to escape the icy water, Charity was able to get free and get to her son who lay unconscious on the floor, before seeing him off to hospital.

Tonight's episode saw Noah awake and questioned over his intoxicated state, with the suspect seemingly in the hospital room as he made a scary discovery.

The episode opened with a worried Charity by Noah's bedside, waiting for him to come around. Her husband Mack entered and asked for an update on his condition.

"No change, whatever is in his system will wear off soon," she replied.

Joe Tate then entered Noah's hospital room and immediately faced hostility from Charity. She allowed him to stay, on account of Noah being his brother and filled him in on doctors believing that Noah was spiked.

Charity left his bedside and bumped into Sarah Sugden and questioned her over Noah being drugged. Sarah promised Charity that Noah has never been into drugs and wouldn't have taken them recreationally.

Sarah then recalled Jacob's new friend Rich at the pub offering Belle a pint of lager the previous evening. Belle refused the drink with Noah accepting the pint instead. The two came to the conclusion that Rich could have slipped something in Noah's drink.

Later, an awake Noah and Charity and Sarah learned from the doctor that he was definitely spiked. Charity asked Noah if he can remember anything, as the police will want to talk to him, which led to Noah having a flashback.

The flashback saw Noah in a hospital bed, in what appears to be a private hospital with a doctor and Joe present. Joe and the doctor were conversing, with the doctor preparing a syringe to inject into Noah. The flashback is through Noah's eyes and as a result is blurry and hard to decipher.

Noah woke up from the flashback to see Joe glowering over his bed. Noah told Charity that he saw "people in a hospital" but nothing else, still in a confused and woozy state.

The episode ended with Noah left alone in his hospital bed, but someone was watching in ominously through the hospital blinds: Joe.
