Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale's Wendy Posner is set for more heartbreak next week when Bob Hope rejects her following a misunderstanding.
In scenes airing this week, it's pretty clear that Wendy (Susan Cookson) is keen to give things with Bob (Tony Audenshaw) another go and so Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) suggests that she write Bob a letter detailing how she feels about him.
Unfortunately the plan goes awry next week when Manpreet's husband Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) gets hold of the love letter and reads it, mistakenly believing that it is intended for him.
Things then go from bad to worse when Rishi shows Wendy's letter to Bob, who can't help but be shocked by what he reads.

Meanwhile, Wendy is left wondering if Bob has read her letter, and Manpreet encourages her to ask him.
Later, at the Woolpack, Wendy approaches Bob to talk about his feelings for her but she's left devastated when Bob, thinking that Wendy is in love with Rishi, denies that he has any feelings for her anymore.
As Wendy fights back tears, has Bob ruined his chances with Wendy for good following his harsh words?

Bob has been a good friend to Wendy since she first arrived in the village, with Wendy actress Susan Cookson previously explaining that Bob showed "a level of empathy for what [Wendy]'s been through" after her arrival was met with anger by many of the villagers.
Bob later showed just how much he cares for Wendy when he comforted her after she had her bag stolen and they have helped each other out on several occasions – but can they get over this latest hurdle?
Emmerdale airs these scenes in the week commencing Monday, June 1 on ITV.
