Emmerdale star Asan N'Jie has hinted that fans haven't yet seen the dramatic climax to Ellis Chapman and Billy Fletcher's storyline with dangerous Max.
Max was out for revenge against the brothers in the Big Night Out episodes in April, but this ultimately proved to be a red herring as Ellis was later stabbed by two other enemies of Billy.
The ITV soap explores the aftermath of the disturbing events next week, as Ellis struggles with panic attacks and anxiety after what happened.
Ellis is also convinced that Max is still lurking around the village – especially when the villain starts sending threatening texts again.
Speaking about the loose ends of the storyline, Asan teased: "We don't actually know what happened to Max, so he could still be out there. We don't know what Max's next move could be.
"It's definitely going to be an eventful one and we're going to have to see where the journey pans out with it all."

On how the recent dramas could affect Jessie's sons, Asan continued: "It could bring us closer together, because we've had a near-death experience as brothers. But it could push us apart, depending on what happens now."
Ellis is also currently involved in Victoria Barton's ongoing storyline, after she confided in him and her other loved ones about being raped after the recent night out.
Asan continued: "Deep down he doesn't know what to think about it. It's really rattled his brains, but at the end of the day, it's not about him. It's about Victoria and he wants to do whatever he can to be there for her and support her through that time.
"To be honest with you, Ellis wants to be there for Victoria but major things have happened in his life too. Maybe he's finding it hard to balance the two and figure out what's going on in his head and Victoria's.
"He's on a bit of a see-saw at the moment. His emotions are everywhere and he doesn't know what his future is going to hold."
Paying tribute to Isabel Hodgins, who plays Victoria, he added: "She's amazing. From day one, she's took me under her wing and taught me how to be a true professional!
"I'm grateful for having an actress like that around me. She's kept me in line, she's kept the reins on me."
