Emmerdale's Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) has spent months grooming teen Jacob Gallagher, and Maya's abuse took another disturbing turn when they slept together in a hotel last week.
However, after tonight's episode (March 12), Maya might be finally be at risk of being exposed after her boyfriend and Jacob's stepfather David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) found a vital clue about Maya's dark secret.
Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) has been growing increasingly jealous of Maya and David's romantic relationship, prompting him to sabotage the couple's date night yesterday (March 11) by telling David that Priya couldn't find a babysitter for their daughter Amba.
With David then taking care of Amba instead, he ended up having to cancel his plans for a posh meal out with girlfriend Maya, but tonight Priya inadvertently caused problems for Maya when she tried to thank David for looking after Amba, and he realised that Priya's story doesn't match up with Jacob's.

"Ah, sounds like Jacob doesn't like sharing you with your girlfriend," Priya offered. "Ruining your dad's date nights by getting him to babysit? It's a new one on me."

Realising that Jacob ruined his evening with Maya on purpose, David then goes to the sports hall to confront him, threatening to rumble Maya and Jacob as they were inside and had just slept together again.
But despite David being so close to catching the two together, Jacob managed to divert his attention by lashing out at David instead.
While Maya hid from view, a panicked Jacob hit back at David for never putting his kids first and for not spending enough time with Amba.
David was left hurt by Jacob's comments, but soon afterwards he stumbled on one of Maya's earrings that had been left on the floor – will David finally figure out Maya's dark secret?
Viewers are certainly hopeful that David will figure out what's going on – and everyone is gunning for Maya's true colours to finally be exposed:
Next week's episodes will see Maya to continue to cover up her relationship with Jacob with a lie that could lead to her downfall, as Maya drags Leyla Harding into her scheming and deceit.
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
