EastEnders spoilers follow.
Jaime Winstone has hinted that EastEnders fans may not have seen the last of the younger Peggy Mitchell and her on-screen family.
The star dropped a sneaky hint on the red carpet at the British Soap Awards recently – responding to calls for more Mitchell flashbacks.
Back in 2022, Jaime took on the role of a young Peggy for a special flashback episode set in 1979. Several other Mitchells appeared in the episode, including Phil and Grant.
Earlier this year, Jaime reprised the role of Peggy alongside the other flashback cast members. This time, the younger Mitchells were seen in the form of hallucinations, as a struggling Phil relived scenes from the family home in 1985.

When we caught up with Jaime at the British Soap Awards, we pointed out that some fans are still calling for a full-time spin-off series featuring the younger Mitchells.
Laughing in response, Jaime did a coy 'lips-are-sealed' gesture and said: "We'll have to see! You know, we have to keep secrets.
"But obviously, there's so much still to explore with Peggy. What Barbara [Windsor] did with her was such a point in her life. I think, where I'm at, it'd be really great to explore that.
"I'd love to go in deeper as to why Peggy was as hard as she was. There's got to be a soft [side] somewhere and obviously we've done the flashback episodes, so to fill in those gaps, yeah it'd be very interesting."

Reflecting on the warm response from fans, Jaime continued: "I was just really honoured and touched. It's a big thing to be asked to come back and not play Barbara, but to play Peggy.
"Peggy Mitchell was someone I grew up on and watched and obsessed over. So yeah, it was just a true honour.
"I was just really touched that the audience responded how they did. It just felt very warm and East London-y. It was very nice."
Phil's special episode showing the Mitchells in 1985 won the Best Single Episode prize at the British Soap Awards after impressing the panel of judges.
EastEnders won eight prizes in total on the night and you can still catch up on the ceremony via ITVX.
