EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders star Kellie Bright has revealed that she was "blown away" by Angie Watts's shock comeback to the soap this week, confirming that even she didn't know.
Anita Dobson reprised the character in last night's big 40th anniversary episode, appearing as a hallucination experienced by daughter Sharon while lying in the rubble of the Queen Vic.
Taking to Instagram, Linda Carter actor Kellie expressed her delight at seeing Angie return to screens 37 years after her last appearance, confirming the cast weren't aware of the cameo beforehand.

Noting a recent reel of photos she posted that included Anita, Kellie admitted: "I had no idea when I posted that picture today of me and Anita Dobson that Angie Watts was going to make an appearance.
"I am blown away," she added. "I hope you loved tonight's episode – I bloody did!"
She captioned the post: "ANGIE WATTS!!!!!! What a Queeeeeeeeen!!!! Thank you @chris_clenshaw and @bbceastenders you have MADE MY HEART SOAR."

Anita herself has also addressed her comeback, revealing only her husband Brian May knew about the cameo beforehand, and that it became difficult keeping it a secret when she was confirmed to be involved in a documentary about the soap.
"They initially asked if I would come back when I was filming for the documentary. I wasn't really thinking of the whole picture at first, and then when they said Letitia [Dean] had said that she’d like me to do it with her, I thought, ‘Oh my god, I can’t say no to seeing my baby again'," she said.
"It was very emotional. Incredibly emotional in a lovely, happy way. Working together again was seamless. We didn't really think about it, or talk about it, or even rehearse it that much because we just did it. It was lovely. She's a gorgeous human being and a lovely little actress."
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
