EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders star Scott Maslen has promised more drama for The Six, as the long-running murder story continues.

The gripping plot began in February 2023 with an intriguing flashforward that culminated in Linda Carter killing Keanu Taylor on Christmas Day.

This year, the story has continued with the Walford women attempting to cover up the crime, together with the likes of Jack, Johnny and Phil – who have all found out the truth.

Speaking about the upcoming drama, he said: "There’s obviously the ongoing scenario with The Six and trying to maintain some form of control over what they’re doing.

"He’s a policeman, and it’s handy to have a policeman in this situation to guide them a little bit. And he’s involved now, he’s in. So the stakes are very high, that’s where it’s going. It’s simmering at the moment, but we’re going to get to a boil."

Scott explained what it has been like to work on a storyline that has got the nation talking and said: "It’s been intense, and a lot of fun working with great people, doing some mad stuff. It’s been great, the stakes have been turned up.

"It’s like EastEnders has gone back to classic [storylines], what everybody loves, and ticks all the boxes. It’s been great to have been part of it, and it’s only just beginning, really. It isn’t over. God help us!"

Scott is nominated for Best Actor in this year’s Inside Soap Awards, and he is also representing the Fox-Trueman-Brannings, who are nominated for Best Family.

When reflecting on his nominations, Scott was keen to praise the soap as a whole, and said: "I’m proud of the show, that’s how I feel. I’m very happy with the way things are, the alchemy of all the different units altogether. Not just the actors – the writing’s great, and the new outlook towards what we’re doing.

"It’s a really good time to be there, and I’ve been there a long time, so I can justifiably say it’s probably the best time I’ve had. So I’m thankful for the nomination, but I see it as a group thing. I’m humble and thankful and very proud of what we’re doing at the moment."
