Former EastEnders star Brian Conley has already lined up his panto role for this festive season.

It may only be the Spring, but the former Rocky Cotton actor has confirmed he will be appearing in Goldilocks and the Three Bears at the Bristol Hippodrome in December and January.

Described as "the greatest panto on earth", Goldilocks and the Three Bears is filled with "riotous comedy, extraordinary special effects, and hair-raising stunts", according to producers.

This bawdy twist on the classic fairytale has Goldilocks and the hungry bears face off with an evil rival circus owner, with plenty of laughs along the way.

Last year, Brian spent the panto season at the Milton Keynes Theatre playing Buttons in another fairytale, Cinderella.

That was one of the first jobs the actor and comedian lined up after confirming he'd be exiting EastEnders after two years on the BBC soap.

Viewers saw his character, Rocky Cotton, face a sad departure just before the New Year when he suspected estranged wife Kathy had something to do with Keanu Taylor's disappearance.

Under pressure from the other members of The Six, Kathy forced Rocky to turn himself in for starting the fire at her café. It has since been revealed that he'd been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

However, Brian hasn't ruled out a potential return to Walford at some point so Rocky could settle unfinished business with Kathy and The Six.

"Playing Rocky was nerve-wracking at first because the show is so iconic and I look back with very fond memories," he recently told The Swindon Advertiser.

“I am in prison so I haven’t died and that’s a nice thought and I could get off with good behaviour.”

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
