EastEnders has confirmed that Whitney Dean is alive following her shock collapse last week.
Last week's episodes left off on an ominous note with Whitney (Shona McGarty) collapsing from starvation as a result of her prison hunger strike — leaving viewers guessing about her fate over the weekend.
Monday's episode (March 16) revealed that Whitney was being nursed back to health at the same time as her solicitor Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) was desperately searching for evidence that could make a difference in her case.
Visiting her in the hospital, Gray insisted: "This isn't just work anymore. It's personal. I'll keep fighting for you, Whit, if you'll let me."

Gray's wife Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plummer) was also desperate to hide her own injuries from her husband following his most brutal physical attack yet, so she started her new job at a call centre in spite of his objections.

The solicitor continued his evidence search in the Fowler home, where he discovered the crucial information he needed — Leo had been stalking Whitney from the attic!
Gray insisted on Sonia Fowler following him up to the attic, even though she admitted that he was "scaring" her with his intensity. Once up there, Gray insisted that Sonia not touch anything while he peered down the hole Leo had drilled in the ceiling.
"We've got him," the solicitor insisted.
But is Gray's discovery actually enough to finally get Whitney out of prison?
EastEnders reveals the fallout of this shocking discovery on Tuesday (March 17) at 7.30pm on BBC One.
