EastEnders has confirmed a shock revenge story for Ian Beale after his teenage son Bobby is brutally beaten up.

The BBC soap will be exploring the topical issue of online bullying with Bobby this week, paving the way for a devastating turn of events in the show's 35th anniversary episodes.

As Ian contemplates reaching out to his son following their recent fallout, he is unaware that the schoolboy is being subjected to ongoing harassment.

Bobby does decide to discuss the online bullying with Iqra and Habiba, but tries to take matters into his own hands when the trio are later racially abused by a gang, who recognise him.

When the situation quickly spirals out of control, Bobby is left fighting for his life after being physically attacked.

As news reaches Ian and Kathy, they are devastated to discover that Bobby will need emergency surgery as a result of his injuries.
