EastEnders star Lin Blakley has spoken about her surprise at seeing her former co-star Jonny Labey on The X Factor: Celebrity.
Jonny, who played Pam's grandson Paul in EastEnders between 2015 and 2016, is one of four contestants in Louis Walsh's Unders category, after wowing the judges during his audition last week.
Discussing her reaction to seeing Jonny on The X Factor, Lin, who plays Pam, said: "I couldn't believe it! I had heard he was going to do it and I was thinking, 'Really?'"
She added: "Jonny and I keep in touch by text and he said to me that I'd have a surprise soon if I was going to watch Celebrity X Factor. But I just thought he was having a laugh – or that someone we knew was going to go on it instead.
"I got such a shock! He is a such a showman, Jonny, and who knows? Something huge might come out of this for him. I hope it does."
Reflecting on whether she thinks Jonny could win, Lin said: "I think he could. There are some strong candidates in there, but he has got as good a chance as anybody. He absolutely oozes it with his personality as well."
