EastEnders will air a sad turn in Jean Slater's story when she hears that her new love interest Daniel has died.
Viewers have seen Jean (Gillian Wright) grow close to Daniel over the last few weeks, after meeting him during her chemotherapy treatment.
But while Jean is making progress, it's sadly a very different story for Daniel – who recently confirmed that his illness was terminal.
Although Jean will be delighted when she learns her son-in-law Martin is back in Walford next week, she is later hit by the devastating news that Daniel has passed away.
Concerned about her complacent reaction to what she has been told, Kush tries to talk to Jean and makes her see how much Daniel meant to her.
Determined to support her, Kush later joins Jean at Daniel's memorial – which is held by his neighbour Mike. But how will Jean deal with this?
