Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street has aired two shocking twists in Todd Grimshaw and Theo Silverton's dark domestic abuse storyline.
Tonight's special episode focused solely on the couple after a devastating event in the flat had shocking consequences for both Theo and Todd, as well as those around them.
The entire episode was told through the found-footage format, collating videos from Todd's hidden camera as well as CCTV, dashcam, video doorbell and police bodycam footage, tracking events over several days.
Theo's abuse continued as he made Todd feel guilty for letting Sarah Platt into the flat for a catch-up, with Theo hurling insults at Todd for spending time with his friend and further isolating his partner.
Todd ended up apologising for having fun, as well as denying trying to control Theo when he asked about his friend Gary Windass coming over to watch the football when Theo said he didn't feel well.

Several little disagreements between the pair escalated into full-blown arguments, caught on Todd's hidden cameras that he uses to capture the abuse Theo is subjecting him to.
The couple clashed over Theo's excessive drinking and repeated insults towards Todd about his appearance, and a particularly disturbing incident in which Theo insisted Todd was "scaring him" and locked him in a room.
He soon went back to showering Todd with affection, cuddling on the sofa to watch a film, and even apologising for his actions.
However, their friction soon boiled over when Theo criticised Todd for spending eight minutes in Victoria Gardens, leading Todd to realise that his boyfriend had been tracking him on the smart watch he had gifted him.

Todd threw the watch at Theo and screamed that he was being suffocated, before the episode cut to a police car arriving on the cobbles.
While being questioned by DC Kit Green, we learned that Theo ended up in the hospital as a result of their row.
It was revealed that Todd tried to leave Theo, who refused, and their breakup devolved into a physical fight, which forced Todd to defend himself.
Todd shoved Theo, who fell into a coffee table and was knocked unconscious, which led the police to believe he was the aggressor in the fight.

Theo didn't outright accuse Todd of abuse, but he manipulated those around him into drawing their own negative conclusions about the event.
Following his arrest, poor Todd was eventually released from the station, where he was met by Theo.
Their argument continued back in the flat, where Theo said he didn't even recognise his partner any more and grabbed a photo of a smiling Todd to show him how happy they had once been.
But in the process, he discovered one of Todd's hidden cameras that he had planted around the flat following a brutal attack from Theo.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
