Coronation Street spoilers follow from Monday's episode (13 October), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn't yet aired on ITV1.

Coronation Street airs a worrying moment for Abi Webster tonight – with another tell-tale clue that she's made a big mistake by giving up everything for her brother-in-law Carl. Is Carl already getting cold feet over their relationship?

Abi recently moved into Carl's hotel room alongside her young son Alfie after deciding to end her marriage to Kevin, who was left shellshocked by her rejection. But there's already a sense that Abi and Alfie are cramping Carl's style…

In tonight's episode, Carl informs Abi that he's had a word with Roy Cropper, who's happy to let her and Alfie move into his flat for the time being.

This is an immediate red flag for Abi, who openly questions Carl's commitment to their relationship.

"You and Alfie can stay at Roy's – I can stop here so I can support Debbie," Carl blags.

Clearly horrified, Abi complains: "No way. We've waited ages to be together.

"We have left a trail of destruction behind us. We need to show people that we're a united front, the real deal. Are you having second thoughts about us?"

Abi's realisation follows Kevin's recent words of warning that Carl can't be trusted, although the slippery character quickly tries his best to talk her back round.

Is the show already dropping major hints that Abi's recent decisions will backfire badly?

Speaking to us at a Corrie press event last week, show producer Kate Brooks pointed out that Abi still doesn't know about Carl's recent fling with James Bailey.

This will be one of the storylines playing out on the cobbles during the Christmas period this year, as fans continue to wonder how long Carl can keep his secrets under wraps.

Brooks said: "You've got Tyrone and Fiz, and the Abi/Carl/James story is all still going on. Abi hasn't got a scooby that that's happening!

"Also, Tyrone still doesn't know the truth about Carl and the car. So there are things which are bubbling – and ready to kick off…"

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
